Our new corporate design

When Werner Griesmaier and Alexander Schellnast launched SGS in 2004 the company logo that SGS is still associated with, was drafted nearly overnight and implemented under a great time pressure. At that time no one could imagine the dimensions which SGS was to take on in such a short period of time.

In August 2007 a new advertising agency, namely AG Media from Vienna, headed up by managing director Oswald Gstöttner, was therefore ordered to rework the corporate design. Following the choice of a new logo, all of the company letterheads (correspondence, business cards, etc) and promotional materials (image brochures, etc) for all subsidiaries were redone with careful attention to detail. The company website also underwent extensive revision to represent a new, professional image. Then the design had to be incorporated into all of the digital and printed templates (hours reports, daily reports, etc.). The work clothing, containers and the entire fleet will gradually get new signage in the near future.

The overall target right from the start was to realise the new design world wide until 1st February 2008 at latest. Equipping all branches with new and especially uniform basis time was indeed a challenge but has made the company’s development recognizable. The new Russian and German subsidiary (Ulm for the new “Maintenance” business unit) have been introduced in this issue of “our mission”. A further SGS subsidiary in Leoben will follow on 1st February 2008, as well as Plauen, Germany (takeover of Montagetechnik Plauen GmbH) on 1st March 2008. Flexibility was therefore at the top of the agenda. In addition to a more professional and uniform public appearance, the new corporate design is also intended to produce an increased recognition factor for SGS.
