Since a few weeks, SGS is proud owner of a new MAN crane.

The crane will be used in Karlsruhe, Germany.

In August 2009 SGS also has passed the Certification according to EN ISO 3834-2 successfully. In EN ISO 3834 welding quality demands are processed. The Class which SGS owns, is the highest category for this type of certificate.

With the total amount of 22 Million Euros the SGS succeeded in getting its greatest turnover of the existing company history. In this cement plant, after completion, every day 5.500 tons (!) of clinker are going to be produced. All together, 150 to 200 employees of SGS will be permanently in service for 14 month during the construction of this plant.

Themed „ contractors meet contractors“ the township Mauren (FL) as well as the project group “Umpasa” already invited companies and traders on June the 23rd for the fifth time to Mauren.

On 13.06.2008, the SGS Group invited all employees and their families to a large party to celebrate the opening of the new company building.

It was with this motto in mind that the big opening party for the new office building at the headquarters in Dorf an der Pram was held on 13th June 2008. The 650 m2 building provides our employees with the latest technology and cutting-edge facilities.

Seven in one fell swoop: With the takeover of DIM Industrieservice Süd GmbH & Co. KG, the SGS Group acquired seven sites in Germany at one fell swoop. This article now profiles Eisenhüttenstadt and Zeitz. Both sites have specialised in maintenance, repairs and long-term service concepts either on the site or in the immediate vicinity of the site. Both sites are managed by SGS Industrial Services GmbH & Co. KG in Ulm.

The branch in Samara was established primarily to provide local support for our project managers with regard to handling orders on site as well as local procurement. A local body of skilled staff is currently being built up locally and integrated into the organisation. One essential and very laborious administrative task is obtaining work permits and visas for our employees from outside Russia.

From the outset, SGS AG, managed by Karoline Schönborn (MA) with her team of Ronny Lohmann (project management), Michael Spirig (Head of Accounting), Sabine Sahler (Accounting and Administration), Elisabeth Krainer (salaries, personnel and administration) and Claudia Rigon (projects and administration) has been successfully representing the SGS Group in Liechtenstein.

In March 2008, SGS started assembling an LVL production line for its client Modern Lumber Technology (MLT) Ltd. in Torzhok, Russia. LVL technology is used to manufacture veneer layer wooden panels, which are used primarily in the construction and packaging industry. The scope of services includes the electrical and mechanical assembly of the plant parts as well as the procurement of electrical materials and piping. The team will assemble the entire plant beginning with the debarking process using the dryer and the press right through to final completion of the plant.

In March 2008, SGS was commissioned to assemble I-Bau equipment and to plan, manufacture, deliver and assemble access facilities and enclosures. I-Bau equipment involves silo unloading and conveyor systems for the cement industry.

Congratulations to our project team and, of course, our customer UNOPAN! The first MDF panel was successfully produced in Salas de los Infantes on 05.06.2008. The new plant of the Spanish INTERBON Group was assembled entirely by SGS, cabled and commissioned in conjunction with the plant suppliers, from the log in-feed right through to the packaging line.
