Major project in Berlin

SGS will continue installing the electrical systems for a gas and steam power plant for Siemens in Berlin-Marzahn until May.

SGS installs for Siemens

Since May 2018, and up to May 2019, SGS will continue to install the electrical systems for a gas and steam power plant for Siemens in Berlin-Marzahn.  For this mega project so far, we have needed 130,000 personnel hours, to employ up to 90 people at peak times and process around 300 km of cable in total.

Reliability for many years

For many years Siemens has been relying on SGS as an experienced, reliable installation partner for gas and steam power plants. On the Berlin construction site, we typically deal with cable route construction, cable tension, measurement and control technology, cable connection, bus duct (generator derivative) and transformer installation including oil filling. Nevertheless, the project is somewhat unusual for our employees as the power plant is located in the city centre. This means there are no parking spaces and workers have to travel to the construction site using public transport.
