KNOW-HOW IN DEMAND ALL OVER THE WORLD

SGS Industrial Services was once again able to successfully implement a major project in North America, this time for ANDRITZ Sundwig GmbH in Kentucky.

Between November 2016 and March 2017 it carried out the mechanical assembly and piping installation for a power rolling mill for the Bilstein Group using an 80-strong team. Managing Director Andreas Hofinger asked the Deputy Head of the Assembly Department at client Andritz Sundwig, Mr. Coskun Ersoy, for an interview.

Andreas Hofinger:
What made you commission SGS Industrial Services with this project?

Coskun Ersoy:
The decisive factor for awarding the project to SGS was the large number of past projects SGS has implemented successfully in the U.S. SGS managed to convince us that they know the local conditions inside out and that it can react to changing project demands in a flexible manner with their U.S. branch. Furthermore, SGS was already very familiar with the equipment that was to be installed.

Andreas Hofinger:
Was SGS able to meet your high expectations in the context of your project in Kentucky?

Coskun Ersoy:
Yes, we were very pleased with their planning and implementation from start to finish. Communication between SGS and Andritz Sundwig was always positive and solution-oriented. All work was implemented on time and at high quality. Particularly noteworthy is the fact that SGS has managed to form a productive assembly team consisting of supervisors from Europe and the SGS branch office in the USA as well as local assembly specialists.

Andreas Hofinger:
You have decided to also hire SGS to provide a commissioning team. Was that a decisive factor?

Coskun Ersoy:
Based on our positive experience working with SGS’s team during assembly, it was the logical thing to also assign SGS with providing a team to assist us with commissioning. This decision turned out to be the right one as the system could be put into service on time and without complications.

Andreas Hofinger:
Can you imagine working with SGS again in the future?

Coskun Ersoy:
Absolutely. SGS is an international service provider with great known-how in the field of project management as well as the leadership and specialist staff required for assembly tasks. Andritz Sundwig has already sent inquiries for new projects to SGS. We are confident that we will successfully implement further projects with SGS in the future.

Andreas Hofinger:
Thank you for your time!
