SGS uses the logistic software (LMS) for plant construction from Insite IT

Deliveries arrive at our construction site around the clock. Keeping an overview of what has already been delivered, how many and where the goods are, is a challenge especially on large construction sites. The new logistics software enables flexible and detailed documentation of our material management. The handling of goods is simplified many times over. The new software minimizes standing and search times.

The first touch points with the software were at our project Corpus Christi in the USA. Due to the positive experience there, we decided on a test phase of one year for the time being. During the test phase, the software was already being used on our construction site in Belgium. “It was mainly used for logistics. Our customers send us all delivery data, which was imported into the system using an Excel file,” says Project Coordinator Lukas. Different formats were eliminated, and standardized documentation was created. This gave us a complete overview of all materials and the associated logistics information. The entire documentation from material acceptance to defect management was done directly in the system. “The software from Insite It offers an easy and user-friendly software,” says Lukas and adds: “Our customers benefit from the standardized reporting and continuous flow of information. The daily reports with any deviations can be created quickly and easily. The program offers a good overview of the construction site. You can see at a glance what is happening on the site.”

"For us and, above all, for our customers, the programm offers only advantages, which is why we decided in favour of the logistics software from Insite IT," says managing director Andreas Hofinger. The software is adapted to the SGS Format and to our needs. It is currently being used on several construction sites worldwide.
