The individual construction areas
The mechanical assembly encompassed the entire plant i.e. wet particle preparation, silo outlets plus conveyor systems, two drum dryers, dry particle preparation - screening and sifting, hurriclone and glueing (glue kitchen). We installed the forming station, forming line and continuous press system, cooling and stacking line, sanding line and a high-bay warehouse measuring 140 x 24 m and 33 m high. Furthermore, we took charge of all thermal oil piping work and the plant fire-extinguishing system, installed the filters and pneumatic conveying systems for the complete plant as well as the air supply units for the production hall. As a total provider, we also handled the glueing unit electrical installation plus the forming and press line.
Major project
Up to 250 SGS employees were deployed for about nine months. The team included specialists from Europe who have had extensive experience in the USA. They know the country, the people, the local conditions and practices. This was the third major project in the USA for our well-coordinated team. Specialists from our branch office as well as locally recruited staff complemented our SGS team on site.

Project completed on-time
The Corona crisis posed unprecedented challenges for all of us so the safety of all SGS employees was paramount. Resulting safety measures included the implementation of hygiene rules. It was difficult for our assembly team to enter and leave the country. Consequently, many of our assemblers stayed longer on the construction sites thereby enabling us to complete the project successfully, and on schedule. You can count on us even in difficult times!
