One of the largest energy infrastructure projects in Belgium is being implemented in Awirs, Flémalle. Engie/Electrabel is building an 875 MW power plant.
With an output of 875 MW, it will be able to supply more than 1,000,000 households with electricity. This new gas and steam power plant will represent an essential link in ensuring the country's security of supply in the future.
Essential for this project are the Siemens SGT5-9000HL gas turbine, the SST5-5000 steam turbine and a heat recovery steam generator (HRSG).

Previous projects that were successfully completed together led to Siemens Energy recommending that Engie implement this project with SGS Industrial Services.
